The maintenance of bicycle locks during use is very important, which can effectively extend the life of the lock and ensure the safety performance of the lock. The following are specific maintenance points:
1. Regular cleaning
★ Remove dust and dirt: Especially the lock core and the chain part, you can wipe them with a clean soft cloth, and use a small brush to clean the gaps when necessary.
★ Prevent water accumulation and mud: If you encounter rainy days or muddy environments, you must wipe the lock dry in time to avoid internal rust or jamming.
2. Regular lubrication
★ Lock core lubrication: Every 1-2 months, you can drip one or two drops of special lubricating oil for locks (such as graphite powder, special light oil) into the lock core to keep plugging and unplugging smooth.
★ Chain lubrication: If it is a chain or steel cable lock, you can also spray some anti-rust lubricant between the chain links to prevent rust and stiffness.
3. Correct use
★ Avoid strong pulling: When inserting and removing the key or turning the password wheel, the action should be gentle to avoid deformation of the lock core due to violence.
★ Reasonable storage: When not in use, try to hang the lock in a dry and ventilated place to avoid long-term exposure to rain and sunlight to accelerate aging.
★ Avoid locking on the ground: When locking the car, try not to lie the lock directly on the ground (especially muddy and rainy ground), as it is easy for water to accumulate in the lock.
4. Special attention to password locks
★ Avoid frequent password changes for password locks to prevent memory confusion; when changing, make sure the lock body is in the unlocked state to prevent damage to the gear mechanism.
5. Check the lock body
★ Regularly check the lock body, lock beam, and lock chain for cracks, rust, and wear.
★ If the lock core is difficult to rotate, the password wheel is not flexible, or the structure is loose, it should be repaired or replaced in time.
